Why even bother to ask her? We watched her lie to parliament about defrauding the signatories of a CIDA letter encouraging the government NOT to cut funding to Kairos. She’s a crook and a liar. Why should we ever expect honesty or dignified conduct out of her again?
Shh! Don’t tell our oil-based government. They’re still maintaining that nothing bad can possibly happen as a result of the petroleum industry that subsidizes them and supports their quack ideological positions.
Well, that makes sense. It’s not as though there’s anything suspicious about the Government having the ability to allow or suspend hearings dealing with its own wrongdoings.

It’s a time of crisis here in Quebec, and one about which many of you outside of this province may not have heard very much credible information. Certainly, the anglophone media in Canada—both in and outside of Quebec—is uniformally conservative in tone and overwhelmingly biased against first the student strike and now, since the passing of the draconian and anti-democratic Loi 78, the constitution of this country.
The tumblr above, “Translating the Printemps Erable,” is a volunteer collective translating articles appearing in the French media into English so that anglophones both in Quebec and across Canada may understand some of the perspectives they have been denied through the overwhelming conservative orientation of English-language media in this country (even the CBC has shown absurd and regrettable bias in their reporting).
I ask you to please pass this site along and send it to as many people as possible. It’s important that Anglophones are not limited to only a range of conservative opinions as a result of their language.

The morning after Prime Minister Stephen Harper won his long-sought majority victory on May 2, 2011, he told journalists there would be no “surprises” in the next four years. The Tories would only do what they promised to do.
A year later, that pledge appears to have been broken in some key areas. Future seniors’ pensions are being cut. Health-care funding is being curtailed. Environmental controls for energy projects are being loosened.
“We don’t have a secret agenda. It’s just that we’re not going to tell you what we’re doing, or why we’re doing that.”
“I think we have a government that considers science an inconvenience.”
Uh, this is what happens when you elect fundamentalists.
Can we at least have learned this lesson for good this time?

Hey guys, remember when barking dickhead John Baird claimed that he had GOOD REASON for defunding scientific organizations whose scientific results did not conform to the demands of Conservative ideological positions on the non-existence of science?
Turns out that, in that too, he was lying through his teeth.
